Lynda Eunita (Collier) Smart

Lynda Eunita (Collier) Smart, age 70, of left her earthly home Tuesday, April 5, 2022. She now begins to enjoy her eternal life and join family that have gone before her.

Celebration of Life for Lynda will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Todd King officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date at Cross Plains Memorial Park Cemetery. There is no set visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Lynda was born on July 18, 1951, to Ed and Melba (Jones) Collier in Brownwood. She attended schools in Brownwood and Brookesmith. Lynda lived most of her life in Brownwood, Coleman, and Panama City, FL.

Lynda married David Kenneth Prosise on July 19, 1969. There were three children born from this union: David, Nathan, and Michael. She then married Clayton “Shorty” Deveron Smart on December 15, 1981, and they were married until his passing in 2018.

She was a stay-at-home mother until her children all entered school. She worked at Coleman First United Methodist Church.

Lynda loved singing karaoke, travelling, everything about the beach and the beach life, and was a regular at Bingo.

Lynda is survived by her 3 sons, David Prosise of Brookesmith, Nathan Prosise and Barbara Andrews of Brownwood, and Michael Prosise of Florida; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Kathy Faqua and husband Steven of Bangs, Charlotte Conner and husband Gerald of Brookesmith. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Shorty” Smart; parents, Ed and Melba Collier; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Jane (Cothran) Prosise.
