American Energy Dominance
The Permian Basin stands ready to provide energy security for the U.S. and our partners and allies around the world. It’s time to finally put Midland Over Moscow. This week we took that message directly to the President at a press conference I hosted with the Republican Study Committee and Congressman Jim Banks.
Many of my Republican colleagues, including Congressman Steve Scalise and Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, joined me as we stood in front of our nation and called for long overdue action from President Biden’s Administration.
Step one was banning Russian oil imports and supporting Ukraine. Now it is time for step two – prioritizing American-made energy before all else.
Our nation produces some of the cleanest energy in the world. Unfortunately, the President and my colleagues on the other side of the aisle refuse to acknowledge that fact and fully unleash our energy producing capabilities. As gas prices climb, President Biden could easily look to energy producers in the Permian Basin to help meet the world’s energy needs. Instead, the President has chosen to pander and provide sanction relief to dictators in Iran and Venezuela in exchange for their oil.
The Democrats’ radical climate agenda is hurting our national security and enriching other countries with authoritarian regimes. Instead of calling the 10 million American workers who produce energy every single day, we are outsourcing production to adversaries like Russia, Iran and Venezuela who are harming our environment.
This week I also took that message to the House Floor to advocate for American energy production. We can’t just be energy independent. We must be energy dominant. You can watch my remarks here or below.
Sunday Morning Futures
This past Sunday, I joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures to outline the current situation in Ukraine and how it is affecting our gas prices at home.
We have abundant natural resources in the Permian Basin. We can provide energy security to not only our country, but our partners and allies around the world. I continue to advocate for putting West Texas to work – and prioritizing Midland over Moscow!
Watch our segment here or below to hear me outline the steps President Biden must immediately take to restore American energy dominance.
Banning Russian Oil
Wednesday night, I voted to ban Russian oil imports. Enough is enough.
Do you support my vote? You can give your feedback in my survey found here.
Stronger Border Security
President Biden’s border crisis continues to grow as U.S. Border Patrol encounters migrants from countries which the U.S. Department of State assesses as having a high threat of terrorism – including Iraq and Syria. Yet the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) website does not publish numbers from all countries of concern. Why are these numbers being hidden?
The American People have a right to know who is attempting to enter our country under President Biden. I sent a letter alongside some of my colleagues on the House Homeland Security Committee to the Commissioner of the CBP calling for greater transparency. Read our letter here.
Stronger Energy Security
Congressman Kelly Armstrong and I sent a letter to President Biden imploring him to prioritize American energy. Read our letter here or below.
