Travis Holamon

On Monday, February 7th, 2022, Travis L. Holamon, a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, was called to his heavenly home, at the age of 76. Travis was born May 2nd, 1945 in Brownwood, His family moved to Zephyr, where he grew up and attended school graduating in the class of 1964.  He attended Howard Payne University until he joined the Army National Guard.  Upon return from his basic training, he married his high school sweetheart Fayenell Woods on August 25, 1967.  Together they raised one daughter, Jayla Holamon.

He loved farming, ranching and living in Brown County. His favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends and sharing stories.  He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Fayenell Holamon; his daughter Jayla Holamon Bulla and her husband Joel Bulla of Stephenville; grandson Josh Bulla and wife Kendall of Georgetown; granddaughter Jobye Bulla of Georgetown; a brother Jimmy Holamon and wife Carol of Zephyr; a brother Larry Holamon and special friend Jenny Smith of Zephyr; sister Joan Gist and husband Richard of Early and many special nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind an abundance of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Leland Doris Holamon of Zephyr.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Heartland Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Friday, February 11th at 2:30 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
