B.G. Watson

A memorial service for Bobby Gayle “B.G.” Watson, age 84, of Zephyr, will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, December 31, 2021, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

B.G. passed from this life on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

B.G. was born on May 12, 1937, in Comanche to Herman and Elizabeth Watson.  B.G. served in the US Army as a military policeman. After his military service, B.G. served as a police officer with the Midland Police Department and later joined the Brownwood Police Department.  He had a forty-year career with the Brownwood P.D. where he served as a Patrolman, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and finally as the Assistant Chief.  After retirement, B.G. enjoyed his time with family, his farm animals, fishing and gardening.  B.G. was married to his wife Reba for forty years and were inseparable.

 B.G. was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a daughter, and a granddaughter, McKenzi Cox.

B.G. is survived by his wife Reba, of Zephyr, a sister, Patsy and brother-in-law Wesley Smart, two sons, Dennis Watson and wife Donna, David Sutton and wife Karen, two daughters, Amber Watson Barron and Mechail Cox and husband James; four grandchildren, Joshua “JJ” Barron, Taylor Sutton, Autumn Watson, and Jaden Cox.
