Lana Rae Dodgen

Lana Rae Dodgen, age 77, of Bangs passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, at a local nursing facility.

Graveside Services for Lana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Koby Majors officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Lana was born on May 30, 1944, to Raymond and Othel (Smith) Egbert in Beaver, Oklahoma. She was a resident of Bangs for 50 years. Lana was an LVN, she worked at the Santa Anna Clinic, Twilight Nursing in Bangs, and a few different Brownwood nursing homes before she retired. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, along with the American Legion in Bangs.

Lana was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a loving spirit; there wasn’t a friend nor stranger she didn’t treat like family.

Lana is survived by her sons, Phillip Dodgen and girlfriend Jeri Anne Holman of Bangs, Jackie Dodgen and wife Jamie of Burkett; grandsons, William “Bill” Trammell and Nicholas Dodgen both of Burkett; granddaughter, Theresa Jackson and husband Adam of San Angelo; great-grandchildren, Patrishia and Tommy Jackson of San Angelo. She is also survived by other family, friends, and church family.

She was preceded by in death by her daughter, Darla Penner; granddaughter, Alexandria Dodgen; and parents, Raymond and Othel Egbert.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (www.give.ocrahope.org) or Alzheimer’s Association (www.act.alz.org) or to a charity of your choice in Lana’s memory.
