BALLINGER – The Brownwood Lions extended their win streak to five games with a 86-61 victory over San Angelo TLCA Thursday morning to open play in the Ballinger boys basketball tournament.
The Lions (7-3) led TLCA (3-3) by a 24-14 count after one quarter, 49-38 at halftime, and 66-54 through three frames.
Five Lions finished in double figures led by Bryson Monroe with 18 points, Jakob Hataway with 17, Christian Kinzler with 15, Luke Moss with 13 and Ike Hall with 11. Tristan Salinas chipped in eight points and Weston Burns added four.
TLCA received 15 points from Brycen Huffman and 10 each from Jaidden Villanueva and Isaiah Oviedo.
Brownwood will be back in action at 11:30 a.m. Friday against the San Angelo Central JV, at 5:30 p.m. Friday against Anson, and at 8:30 a.m. Saturday against Coleman.
