Mary Denson

Mary Denson, age 79, went home to be with her Lord on October 28, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. 

Services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Palmer Mortuary in Seguin, Texas. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, in the Valera Cemetery in Coleman County, Texas under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Mary was born November 18, 1941, in Millersview, Texas, to Charles Thomas and Theresa Yvette (Corum) Fletcher. She grew up in west Texas where she learned to love horses. She was married to Claude Ross Denson on January 28, 1989. They moved to Bandera where they shared their lives and love of horses. Mary loved horses and fishing, but most of all, she loved her family. Family was the center of her life. She retired from Bandera ISD where she worked as a bus driver and head of the bus barn. 

She is survived by two sons, Clarence (Bill) Hughes, JR and MeLinda of Vivian, LA; John Robert Abel and Candy of Toledo, OH; four daughters, Debra Teague and Ray of Fort McKavett, TX; Judy Rice and Steven Iborm of Saint Hedwig, TX; Frances Herzog and Tink of Seguin, TX; Janice Sasser and James of Canyon Lake, TX; 24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Tommie Finley and Don of Douglasville, TX; and three brothers; Robert Fletcher and Beverly of Seguin, TX; Bruce Fletcher and Connie of San Angelo, TX and Rupert Fletcher and Kay of Durant, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, David Hughes, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Palmer Mortuary.
