The cities of Brownwood, Early, and Bangs all showed double-digit percentage increases in sales tax collections this month. Early led the pack with an increase of more than 50%. October is the first month of the fiscal year in all three cities, and thus all three start off the new fiscal year nicely in sales tax. Allocations received from the State of Texas in October reflect retail sales in August 2021. (All figures shown below are rounded to the nearest dollar.)
Brownwood
The City of Brownwood received $491,463, an increase of 16.74% over October 2020. The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $161,170, an increase of 13.96% over October 2020.
Early
The City of Early received $175,853, an increase of 51.25% over October 2020. The Early Municipal Development District received $57,910, an increase of 52.62% over October 2020.
Bangs
The City of Bangs received $18,886, an increase of 39.11% over October 2020. The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,973, an increase of 43.83% over October 2020.
