On Saturday, September 18, 2021, Cassandra E. Shultz, loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away at the age of 68.
Cassie was born on January 3, 1953, in Houston, Texas. She lived in Austin, Texas most of her life with her husband, Richard C. Schultz, and three daughters, Glenda, Jenni, and Emily. Cassie retired to Coleman, Texas in 2010.
Cassie had a passion for gardening, fishing, and animals. Her yard was always full of beautiful plants and flowers all year long. She loved all kinds of animals from tiny hummingbirds to her beloved dogs. Cassie never waivered from rescuing wildlife and pets that needed help. She loved the holidays and made them extra special for her children and grandchildren. Cassie enjoyed playing “42” with her friends, volunteering for the 4-H leadership cooking class, and was a member of the Good Neighbors Club.
Cassie is survived by her husband and lifelong friend, Richard C. Schultz; three children, Glenda Smith and husband Mike of Austin, Jenni Shultz of Manor, and Emily Nash and husband Jeff of Coleman; and four grandchildren, Clay, Casey, Nathan, and Andrew. She doted on her beautiful grandchildren, known as Grammy to them. She loved them with all her heart and loved spoiling them. She was a voice of love and encouragement to everyone who knew her.
Cassie had a very strong faith in God that led her through life and helped her be strong in difficult times. She is reunited with her Lord and Savior.
Viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Aaron Mitchell, pastor of Concho Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
Pallbearers will be Richard Shultz, Jeff Nash, Mike Smith, Nathan Nash, Andrew Nash, Clayton Gibson, and Andrew Rodriguez.
