George was born October 5, 1969, in Brownwood, TX, to Bo and Linda Hunter. He attended Brookesmith and Brownwood schools, graduating from Brownwood in 1989. First and foremost, George loved Jesus, which was evident in the way he treated others. Biblical theology and history were among his many interests. George loved his family, but his heart belonged to his nieces and nephews. He had an adventurous spirit and traveled to 48 of the 50 states. His love of cultural diversity led him to teach himself five languages. George was an artist, musician, debater, entertainer and comedian. Making people laugh was one of his favorite things in life. He loved to sing and play the piano, tambourine and harp. He respected all of God’s creation and adopted many four-legged strays. George enjoyed the things of generations past, such as maps, movies, music, cars and nostalgic antiques. All things Disney were at the top of George’s list. He built a room in his home full of his hand-drawn Disney sketches, memorabilia, movies, candy and popcorn for his nieces and nephews. He was a fabulous dancer and made sure his family learned all the right moves. He adored his customers at Hunter’s Station and often spent more time visiting than working. He was blessed with wonderful parents. He worked with his dad and they enjoyed watching westerns together. His mom was his best friend, prayer partner and traveling companion. He often referred to her as his “angel on earth.”
George is survived by his mother, Linda Hunter of Brownwood; sister, Jodie Armstrong and husband Don of Blanket; brother, John Hunter and wife Lisa, of Brownwood; nieces and nephews, Ashley Nosek, Haley Coulter, Kelcie Lloyd and Bo Hunter; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
George was preceded in death by his father, Bo Hunter and his grandparents.
