GODLEY – The Brownwood Lady Lions experienced a rare pre-district loss Friday, falling to Godley in five sets, 15-25, 25-15, 27-25, 19-25, 15-8.
The Lady Lions received 16 kills apiece from Olivia Fowler and Tessa Goodwin, nine each from Jaylen Savage and Gracie Boswell, five from Kylie Morris, and four from Jordan Northcutt.
Kylie Wooten logged 37 assists with Goodwin added 18 and Fowler contributed two.
Fowler also served a team-best five aces trailed by Morris with three, Goodwin and Boswell with two apiece, and Kassidy Wooten with one.
Defensively, Fowler amassed 20 digs trailed by Boswell with 16, Kassidy Wooten with 15, Morris with 13, Kylie Wooten with 11, Goodwin with seven and Savage with a pair.
At the net, Savage recorded five blocks, Northcutt added three, Morris chipped in two and Goodwin and Boswell were each credited with one.
Brownwood (14-5) will be back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday as it hosts Midland Christian in just its second match at Warren Gym this season.
