BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 11/5

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of October 28-November 3, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 26 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 5 fire calls, 2 hazardous materials call, and 1 public assistance calls.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, October 28

*12:03 pm – BFD were called to the 1600 block of 6th Street where a power line was down. Firefighters arrived to find a large tree limb lying across a power line.  Oncor was called and arrived to disconnect the line and trim the tree limb.

*5:40pm – BFD responded to a vehicle fire in the 1300 block of Avenue B.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small camper trailer in the back yard of a residence fully involved.  Firefighters made an attack and extinguished the fire.

Monday, October 29

*8:08am – BFD was dispatched to a three-vehicle accident in the1200 block of W US Hwy 67. Firefighters provided first aid and assisted with a landing zone for air transport of the patient.

*3:49pm – BFD responded to a single-vehicle accident on W US Hwy 67, which was reported to be a roll-over accident.

*5:35pm – BFD was called to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue.

*6:46pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 2100 block of 6th Street. Fire crews arrived to find homeowners burning in an approved container for an outside warming fire.

Tuesday, October 30

*3:02pm – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 2500 block of Crockett Drive regarding the smell of gas.  After investigating nothing was found.

* 6:46pm – BFD was called to the area of County Roads 264 and 267 to investigate smoke. Investigation determined that the fire was in Mills County.

Wednesday, October 31

*5:25pm – BFD was dispatched to motor vehicle accident with no injuries at 401 W. Commerce involving a car versus a motorcycle.

Thursday, November 1

*10:21am – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 2200 block of Belle Plain.  Firefighters were dispatched to investigate the smell of gas.  This smell was determined to be BBQ grill after investigation.

* 2:20pm – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 3rd Street and Fisk.

Friday, November 2

*12:11pm – BFD was called to a grass fire in the 4600 block of S US Hwy 377.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small grass fire which was extinguished.

*2:31pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 2400 block of CR 347.  BFD firefighters were requested to assist Early Volunteer Fire Department with a grassfire caused by a high voltage line.  The fire was extinguished.
