“I was proud of how they played to start off the season and really came together to start our season in the right direction,” said Lady Lions third-year head coach Allison Smith.
Standouts against Wall were Olivia Fowler with nine kills, three aces and 20 digs; Gracie Boswell with six kills, one ace, 24 digs and two blocks; Kylie Morris with five kills, one ace, 21 digs and four blocks; Tessa Goodwin with five kills, 15 assists, three aces, and one block; Jordan Northcutt with five kills, two blocks and a pair of digs; Kylie Wooten with 10 assists and three aces; and Kassidy Wooten with 35 digs.
In the triumph over Monahans, Brownwood was led by Jaylen Savage with five kills and six blocks; Fowler with six kills, two aces and 24 digs; Goodwin with eight kills, 12 assists and 10 digs; Boswell with five kills, one ace, 30 digs and three blocks; Morris with four kills, one ace, three blocks and 17 digs; Northcutt with one kill, three blocks and two digs; and Kassidy Wooten with one ace, one assist and 17 digs.
The Lady Lions (2-0) are back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17 when they host San Angelo Central in the home opener at Warren Gym.
