June Mayfield Harris

June Mayfield Harris, 85 of Brownwood, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life, Sherwood Morris Harris, on July 31, 2021. Viewing and visitation will be Friday, August 6, at Heartland Funeral Home, Early, Texas, from 6 pm to 8 pm. A celebration of June’s life will be Saturday, August 7, at 10 am at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood, Texas, with graveside service following immediately after at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas.

The beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was born to Richard Lonso Mayfield and Elnora Roberts Mayfield on July 9, 1936, in Brownwood, Texas. She was raised in Brownwood and graduated high school in 1955 and attended Howard Payne University, where she later worked as the Athletic Director’s secretary for several years. While in Brownwood she ran into an old classmate, Sherwood Harris, and after a brief whirlwind courtship married in 1961. June who was mainly a homemaker, enjoyed traveling, making jewelry, decorating her house and spending lots of time with her grandchildren, who adored their grandma.

June is survived by daughters Sheryl Kirchner and husband Mike, Mechelle Sanchez and husband Dennis. Her grandchildren, Jason Zaloudik and wife Jill, Sky Zaloudik, Brittanie Zaloudik and her significant other Jason, Corey Sanchez and wife Stefanie, Ethan Sanchez, Michael Kirchner, Jr. and Matthew Kirchner and wife Sierra. Great grandchildren, Azure Zaloudik, Ella Zaloudik, Avary Emerson, Axel Zaloudik, Carlie Zaloudik, Izabelle Zaloudik and Stetson Sanchez.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sherwood Morris Harris, her parents, Richard and Elnora Mayfield, her brothers, Mickey Mayfield and Tony Mayfield and beloved daughter, Julie Harris Matthews.

June loved God, her family, her church and all of her relatives and friends. She will always be remembered as a kind and sweet woman.
