Jerry Dean Campbell, 74, was born June 17, 1947 and passed July 25, 2021. He is proceeded in death by his Father Hurley Andrew Campbell, Mother Lois Beatrice Snipes and Brother-in-law George day. He is Survived by his Wife of 42 years Kathleen Marie Campbell, Sister Shirley Ann Campbell, brother Jimmie Glenn Campbell and his 4 children: Ryan Dean, Robert Hunter, Krystal Marie and Sonya Jo. Jerry served 7 years in the Texas National Guard, worked as a Brand Inspector for Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers, was a conductor and brakeman for the Santa Fe Rail Road, built fence from New Mexico to Mississippi, was a government trapper for the Department of the Interior and hunted across the country in Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mexico, Arizona and West Virginia.
Jerry never met a dog he couldn’t train, a mule he couldn’t ride, or a jeep he couldn’t wreck. He wasn’t just a storyteller, he was an experience, never missing an opportunity to share his Jerry-isms with the world be it a mule loaded up in the bed of a 4X4 or a knee-slapping one-liner. As he put it, he’d never lie to you, but he might BS you. Jerry led a life that was 100% on his terms, accomplishing many extraordinary things in his years from movies to TV shows to record book trophies and so much more. He often bragged of his number one Russian Boar record with the line, “There can only be one number one.” Although, at the time, he was met with playful eyerolls and chuckles from his children, we came to find that records may be broken, trophy mounts may collect dust, but there will still only ever be one number one…and we called him dad.
