Gary Dale Mitchell, age 65, of Brownwood passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Celebration of Life for Gary will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Gary was born on June 7, 1956, to Howard and Mary Frances (Armstrong) Mitchell in Brownwood. He was a life-time resident of Brownwood. Gary worked in construction, laying floors for years.

He enjoyed fishing in his down time. Gary loved his grandkids. He loved spending time with them and cheering them on at their events.

Gary is survived by his son, Brian Mitchell and wife Brittany of Brownwood; grandkids, Kamaron and Kolby; 4 brothers, Otis Mitchell and wife Susan of Lake Brownwood, Troy Mitchell and Betty of May, Ducky Mitchell and wife Kathy of Thrifty, Kenneth Mitchell and wife Rhonda of Brownwood; and 3 sisters, Edith Makuta of Bryan, Minnie Vogelpohl and husband Mark of Giddings, and Sherri Landrum of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and several friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary Mitchell; sister, Bobbie Mitchell; and wife, ViveAnn Daugherty-Mitchell.
