Jeanne French

Jeanne French, age 63, of Coleman, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Coleman County Medical Center.

The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with her son Matthew French, pastor at Resurrection Church in Arlington, officiating. A private interment will follow at the Valera Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born Ida Jean Hoover on January 29, 1958, in Graham to Daniel Hoover and Ruby Horn Hoover. Jeanne grew up in Shamrock and moved to Coleman where she graduated from Coleman High School. She married Randall Ray “Randy” French on August 7, 1976, at the Central Baptist Church in Coleman. Jeanne worked at the Home Video Outlet Store, Dollar General, and the Shoppin’ Baskit for over 10 years. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Coleman.

Jeanne loved the people of Coleman. She loved her job at the Shoppin’ Baskit because she could converse with everyone who came in. Jeanne loved her family and the times she had playing with her grandchildren. She was an avid supporter of the Coleman Bluecats and sporting events. Jeanne took pride in the community of Coleman and the outpouring of love that she experienced between friends. She will be greatly missed.

Preceding Jeanne in death are her parents, Daniel and Ruby Hoover; her husband, Randy French; her second parents, Raymond and Flossie French; and sister-in-law, Becky Hoover.

She is survived by her children, Matthew French and wife Rachelle of Arlington, Connie Preece and husband Floyd of Coleman, and Johnnie French of Coleman; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Roy Hoover of Coleman, Beatrice Phillips and husband Mark of Coleman, Bill and Lena French of Duncanville, Bobby and Dorothy French of Brownwood, and Rick and Debbie French of Brazoria; and numerous nieces and nephews who were like her own children.

Pallbearers will be Joey Cupps, David Cupps, Nickolas West, Logan West, Delbert French, Cody French, Cameron French, Cole French, Brandon Hoover, and Casey French. Honorary pallbearers will be Earon Monroe, Jeremy Hall, and Chipper Anderson.
