Martha was born January 6, 1930 in Portis, Kansas to David and Edna Mae Saunders. Martha had a passion for collecting antiques, playing Bingo, and her career in retail sales. She loved sharing her “treasures” with others so they could enjoy them as much as she did. Martha finally agreed that she was brought to Brownwood to find “her church”, the Brownwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed the fellowship and her wonderful church family that eventually became cherished friends. She also enjoyed bible study and all the knowledge that she gained from it. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved each and every one of those babies. She couldn’t wait to hold and love on them. Her happiest time was taking care of her great grandchildren. She loved rocking, reading to them, and also singing some of their favorite songs (even though she said she couldn’t sing). She definitely kept us on our toes with her spunky personality, witty remarks, and amazing stories. She will truly be missed! Love you Grandma!
Martha is survived by her daughter, Della Coppedge and husband Fred of May; son, Bobby D Jones of Tennessee; grandchildren, Craig Coppedge, Crissy Garcia, Drew Jones, Jeremy Jones, Bobby Jones and David Jones; 8 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by a son, David Leon Jones and her parents, David R. and Edna Mae Saunders.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Brownwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2211 Ave D, Brownwood, TX 76801.
