The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife department, for the week of May 6:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
Excellent fishing. Water stained; 66 degrees; 1.70 feet low.
Largemouth bass are good in coves, along grass lines and timber in 2-1/2-feet of water with frogs, bladed spinners, crankbaits, and finesse jigs.
Crappie are good on minnows in brush piles, near bridge pilings, and in the creeks.
White bass and hybrids are excellent on spoons, swimbaits, and live bait on the main lake channel, humps, and ridges. Look for birds diving over feeding schools of white bass.
Catfish are excellent on cut bait, chicken liver, and live bait in 3-10 feet depth.
LAKE CISCO
Good fishing. Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 5.16 feet low.
Largemouth bass are good fishing above 10-feet on topwater, spinners, worms, and crankbait using the biggest structures and longest points with the largest drops.
Sunfish are good at night on cutworms under shallow human-made structures.
Crappie are fair on jigs using creeks and appearing in and around Sandy Creek.
Catfish are fair all day with slowing movement on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and chicken livers.
LAKE COLEMAN
Fishing is good. Water slightly stained; 69 degrees; 3.36 feet low.
Hybrid stripers are good on rattletraps and live bait watching topwater feeding activity.
Largemouth bass are good on worms, topwater, and crankbaits working laydowns, and the edge of vegetation.
Catfish are fair using stinkbait and cut bait around cove entrances withing 4-feet of the bottom.
LAKE PROCTOR
Fishing is fair. Water is muddy; 66 degrees; 4.35-feet high.
Largemouth bass are fair on frogs, buzz baits, and crankbaits near main lake points, coves, and shorelines in 3-15 feet of water.
Hybrid stripers are fair with live bait in the main lake, around 35-45 feet.
Crappie are fair with minnows near timber and brush near a channel or drop off.
Catfish are good on chicken liver, cut bait, and earthworms.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
Fishing is fair. Water clear; 68 degrees; 13.36 feet low.
Black bass are good in the early hours, with topwater producing the best results. Daytime and evenings use worms and crankbaits over brush and ledges.
Crappie are fair on live minnows close to structure.
Catfish are good on stinkbait, live- and cut-bait.
