On Saturday, March 27 just after midnight, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher contacted a passing driver at Johnson Street and W. Commerce while out on foot on another traffic stop. The driver of the second vehicle appeared to be intoxicated, and SFSTs were performed. The driver was subsequently arrested for DWI.
On Wednesday, March 31, Lt. Pete Bastardo took a report in regards to someone hitting a mailbox. There are no suspects to list.
On Wednesday, March 31 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Deputy Mike Sheedy contacted a complainant by phone. This was in regards to animal cruelty. Complainant reported three dogs had been left at a residence he just purchased in the 2500 block of Willow Bend Road. The previous occupant had been evicted and left property, and abandoned the dogs at the property.
On Thursday, April 1, Deputy Andre Smoot conducted a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Highway 279. While making contact with the occupants, Smoot smelled Marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. A search was conducted and THC oil less than 1 gram was located in a vape device. The passenger was arrested and a report was completed.
On Thursday, April 1 at approximately 7:52 p.m., Deputy Nicolas A. Wood, was notified of a Criminal Mischief offense, which had occurred at Belfast Drive. An investigation was conducted and a report was made.
On Thursday, April 1, Deputy Toby Mathis, observed a white pickup disregard a stop sign at the intersection of CR 551/ Limerick Dr., Brownwood. The driver did not have proof of insurance for the vehicle and was placed in custody for Operating Motor Vehicle w/o Financial Responsibility.
On Friday, April 2 at about 10:45 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at the Zephyr Football Stadium located at S US 183 in Zephyr. This was in regards to criminal mischief. Langley spoke to the complainant, who stated someone had broken into the concession stand and caused damage to the property.
On Friday, April 2 at approximately 11:24 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to CR 381 . This was in reference to a burglary of a habitation and theft report and investigation.
On Friday, April 2 at 12:50 p.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover contacted a complainant by phone. This was in reference to child custody. After further investigation a report was made.
On Friday, April 2 at 1:42 p.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover and Deputy Byron Langley responded to CR 215. This was in reference to a neighbor throwing objects on the backyard around. After further investigation a trespass warning was served.
On Friday, April 2, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Sandy Beach Rd. This was in reference to a criminal trespassing report and investigation.
On Saturday, April 3 at 10:20 a.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover was informed of a walk-in at the Law Enforcement Center. This was in reference to a theft, which occurred in the county. After further investigation a report was made.
On Sunday, April 4 at approximately 1:05 p.m., SO units were dispatched to Hutchins Trail. This was in reference to a terroristic threat.
On Sunday, April 4 at 5:04 p.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover was traveling northbound on FM 2126 when he observed a green Chevrolet pickup truck with no front Texas license plate. Deputy Gover performed a traffic stop. A probable cause search was conducted, due to the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody for Possessing Marijuana Under 2oz. The passenger was arrested for Possessing Controlled Substances PG1 over 1 gram, but less than 4 grams and PG2 under 1 gram, Tampering with Physical Evidence, as well as Possessing Marijuana under 2oz.
On Sunday, April 4 Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatched to an address on Gordon Road. This was in regards to a possible burglary. Multiple firearms have been reported missing. A report has been made.
On Sunday, April 4 at 10:15 p.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover was informed of a walk in at the sheriff’s office. The complainant described an incident, which occurred earlier in the evening between her two sons. After speaking to the complainant a report was made.
On Sunday, April 4 deputies were dispatched to an address on CR 281. This was in regards to a domestic disturbance. An individual was supposedly breaking things in his residence and drinking. When deputies arrived on scene, the individual was walking through an intersection and was placed in custody for Public Intoxication. A report has been made.
On Monday, April 5 at about 10:13 a.m. Deputy Marvin Simpson took a phone call in regards to theft of a package. Upon speaking with the victim, it was learned the package was a firearm. Information for the firearm was provided and a report was made.
On Monday, April 5, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher, was notified of a positive rabies case in the Early area. A report was made.
On Monday, April 5, Deputy Andre Smoot, was dispatched to FM 585N. This was for theft of electrical service. Smoot arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant, who explained someone had switched on the power without the company’s permission. Smoot gathered the details he could provide, and a report was completed for further investigation.
On Monday, April 5 at about 2:05 p.m., Deputy Marvin Simpson took a phone call in regards to a burglary. Deputy Simpson spoke with a victim who advised he had received a call that someone burglarized his camper in North Lake subdivision. Deputy Simpson went and photographed the scene. The victim advised he would be in at a later time to go through the camper to check if anything is missing. A report was made.
On Tuesday, April 6, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher, performed a traffic stop on a green Ford pickup on Highway 279 near Cross Cut. Upon attempting to arrest the driver for Driving While License Invalid he fled on foot. While searching the vehicle, 0.5 grams of methamphetamine was found in the vehicle, as well as a registration sticker belonging to another vehicle.
On Tuesday, April 6, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to CR 292 for a report of disorderly conduct. Deputies arrived and learned no offense had occurred on this day, but a male advised Mathis of a previous assault that had occurred with his girlfriend. Information was gathered and a report was made.
On Wednesday, April 7 at approximately 1:26 a.m., Deputy Nicolas A. Wood, was notified of a vehicle that had stopped in the middle of the roadway in approximately the 6800 BLK of S US 183. The driver of the vehicle was not responsive, and the vehicle was still in gear. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and the driver was arrested for DWI. A report was made.
