A man wanted by Early Police, and who had escaped capture since Saturday night, was taken into custody Tuesday morning in Runnels County, according to Early Police Chief David Mercer. Chief Mercer issued the following statement.
“Ryan Graham has turned himself in to the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office on the warrant from Early PD for Evading arrest or detention. Brown County Sheriff’s office has other charges pending that they will serve on Graham. The stolen vehicle has not been located at this time.”
Ryan Christopher Graham of Menard had been wanted since first being reported as a reckless driver in the 1100 block of Early Blvd on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm. According to Early Police, he led Brownwood, Brown County, DPS and Game Wardens on a pursuit to western Brown County. After crashing his vehicle on County Road 196, Graham fled on foot into a pasture and managed to avoid capture.
According to a previous report on Brownwoodnews.com, officers began building a perimeter Saturday night where Graham had been seen between Cheyenne Lane and County road 156. The suspect fired several shots on several occasions. Officers later located an AK-47 with a broke stock, the suspect also dropped his drivers license while running which identified him as Ryan Christopher Graham from Menard. Officers searched through the night with night vision equipped drones and a DPS helicopter arrived with night vision equipment, but the subject was never found. Graham was seen earlier with a pistol, so it was known that he was still armed.
At one point the subject was seen by a witness who stated he was running naked through the pasture carrying a backpack.
Early Sunday morning it was learned that Graham had possibly stolen a Red dodge pickup and was last seen in Brady.
