Charlene Huffman, age 90, of Odessa, Texas passed from this life to the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Riverside Inn in Fort Worth, Texas

Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at the Roscoe Cemetery with Rev. Odis Medley officiating.  Interment will follow with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

She was born Charlene Joy Kemp on March 13, 1931 in Scurry County, Texas to Charles A. and Joyce Wynette Clark Kemp, Sr.  Charlene was raised in Hylton, Texas where she attented Hylton High School and continued her education a t Sul Ross State University where she received her BS and MS degrees.  On August 17, 1946 Charlene married the love of her life Edward Raymond Huffman, Sr. in Hylton, Texas and they celebrated 60 years of marriage.  Edward preceded her in death in 2007.

Charlene was a resident of Odessa for 50 years where she was a member of the Methodist Church.  She was a fourth grade teacher for 34 years at Zavala Elementary and dedicated her life to teaching for 38 years.

Survivors include daughter – Joy & husband Michael Murray of Ft Worth, Texas; granddaughter – Harmony Fenton; grandson – David McCutcheon; and several nieces and nephews

Charlene was preceded in death by her son Ray Huffman in 2019 and sister Lolene Guinnette in 2019.
