On Thursday, March 18, Deputy Andre Smoot contacted complainant referencing mail that was delivered about a request to start unemployment benefits. Smoot gathered all the information she could provide and completed a report.
On Thursday, March 18 at about 2:41 p.m. Deputy Marvin Simpson responded to Sandy Beach Road. This was in regard to trespassing. Upon arriving on scene, the victim showed Deputy Simpson a video of a suspect driving through the gate of Sandy Beach RV Park. The suspect has a current criminal trespass warning for this property. A report was made.
On Thursday, March 18, Deputy Andre Smoot assisted Brownwood Animal Control Officer at the Law Enforcement Center place a pig in the Sheriff’s livestock pins. The pig was discovered lost on the streets of Brownwood.
On Thursday, March 18, Deputy Toby Mathis, initiated a traffic stop on a white pickup. This was for no operating taillights. After smelling a strong odor of fresh marijuana, and observing a baggie of marijuana, a probable cause search of the pick was conducted. The driver and passenger were placed in custody for Possession of Marijuana.
On Friday, March 18 at approximately 12:01 a.m. Deputy Nicolas A. Wood initiated a traffic stop on a black 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, bearing TX Temporary Tag. Wood initiated the traffic stop in the 8700 block of North Highway 279. This was for a defective license plate light. As the vehicle came to a stop adjacent to County Road 568, an unknown white male jumped out of the front passenger seat and evaded on foot. The driver of the vehicle was called out and detained. During a search of the vehicle a usable amount of marijuana, under 2 ounces, was found. The driver was arrested and a report was made.
