The American Southwest Conference announced Monday its weekly women’s basketball awards and Howard Payne University freshman Amanda Turpin was honored as the ASC West Division Player of the Week.
Turpin, a freshman from Cypress, led the Lady Jackets to a 2-0 week and a second place in the ASC West Division standings, averaging 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She had a game-high 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field in the 10-point win over Concordia. Turpin also had 17 points, five boards and two steals in a 77-75 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor.
