The City of Brownwood warming shelter is open at the Adam Street Community Center at 511 E. Adams Street. The facility will be open again today until 8:00 p.m. The purpose of opening Adam Street facility is to have a warm place for people to go if electricity is out in their homes for a prolonged period. We encourage residents to stay home until the electricity has been out for an hour or more, as it may be a rolling power outage.
If you are unable to stay warm, and need assistance with shelter please call:
Fire Chief Eric Hicks at 325.800.9794 or Assistant Chief Jody Horton at 325.430.9410 if you live inside the Brownwood city limits.
Brown County Emergency Management Coordinator Darrell Johnston at 325.203.3188 if you live outside of Brownwood city limits.
