Opal Christine Foster

Opal Christine Foster, 80, of Early, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021. There will be a private family graveside service but the family would like to invite friends to sign the registry book at Heartland Funeral Home.

Opal was born January 29, 1941 in Brownwood to JW and Gussie Barnett. Opal attended the North Ward School in Brownwood, married and had two boys that were the center of her world. Opal worked at Kohler in various different roles throughout many years. She loved gardening, growing flowers and working in her yard. Opal was a kind and gentle lady who always put others before herself and this love lives inside her children and grandchildren whom she loved so deeply.

Opal is survived by her son, Marcus Foster and wife Beth of Lampasas; grandchildren, Ashley Smith and husband Tyler, Leanna Foster, Brooklynn Foster & Zack Foster, all of Lampasas; great grandchildren, Taylor and Tyson Smith; brother, James Towery and wife Ann of Brownwood; and sister, Brenda Armstrong and husband Danny of Brownwood; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Opal was preceded in death by her son, Dwane Foster; father, JW Barnett; mother, Gussie Barnett-Sharp; brothers, Jackie, Gus, Joe & William Barnett; sisters, Virgie Dudley, Frances Cox & Tressie Patterson.
