RICHARDSON, Texas – Howard Payne University’s Tyrell Thompson scored a career high 25 points in a 107-55 loss to the University of Texas at Dallas Thursday evening in conference action.
Howard Payne’s Tyrell Thompson grabbed a team high eight rebounds along with his career high 25 points versus UT Dallas. Thompson is leading the Jackets in scoring this season at 16.1 points per game.
The Yellow Jackets as a team struggled on the night connecting on just 29% (20 of 69) of their shots, 11.1% (3 of 27) from behind the arc. UT Dallas shot 46.2% (42 of 91) from the field on the night.
Michael House had seven points, five rebounds, and three steals for the Jackets. Jaylan Ballou finished with five points, three steals, and three assists for HPU.
UT Dallas was led by Michael Forster and Dimitrius Underwood with 20 points each.
Howard Payne is now 0-10 overall and 0-6 in American Southwest Conference action. UT Dallas improves to 4-1 on the year and 2-1 in league play. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Saturday at the University of the Ozarks in a league game starting at 3:00 pm.
