BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Early and May boys, May and Brookesmith girls pick up victories

MILLSAP – The Early Longhorns remained tied with Comanche for fourth place in the District 8-3A boys basketball standings with a 41-39 road victory over Millsap Friday night.

Early (9-9, 4-4) moved a full game ahead of fifth-place Millsap (7-10, 3-5) and remained knotted with Comanche (6-5, 4-4) as Vic Cooper scored 15 points in the Longhorns’ victory, while Ethan Mitchell added eight points.

May Lady Tigers 73, Moran 15

MILLSAP – The TABC Class A No. 9 May Lady Tigers improved to 16-3 on the season and 5-1 in District 13-A action with a 73-15 road win over Moran Friday night.

Roberta Robinette led May with 23 points trailed by 16 from Reese Chambers, 14 from Melanie Murphree, nine from Brianne Steele, six from Sophie Lord, four from Lexi Fox and one point from Hannah McKenzie.
