EARLY – The Early Lady Horns notched their second victory of the season Tuesday night, fending off the Lingleville Lady Cardinals for a 50-48 win.
Tatum Reigle led the charge for Early (2-6) with 25 points followed by Caroline Welker with six and Madison Torrez with five.
The Lady Horns shot 34 percent (20 of 59) from the floor and 42 percent (8 of 19) at the free throw line with 27 rebounds, 14 steals and 10 assists as a team.
Early visits Ballinger at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Goldthwaite 36, Bangs Lady Dragons 27
GOLDTHWAITE – Down 14 points at halftime, the Bangs Lady Dragons closed the gap to five points in the fourth period before the Goldthwaite Lady Eagles pulled away for a 36-27 victory Tuesday night.
Bangs (3-6) trailed 15-4 after one quarter, 26-12 at halftime and 28-18 through three periods. With two minutes left, the Lady Dragons had reduced the deficit to 32-27 but didn’t score again.
Brooklann Mullins led Bangs with eight points followed by Maggie Morales with seven.
The Lady Dragons are back in action Tuesday, Dec. 15 as they visit Early in the District 8-3A opener.
Lohn 42, Bangs Lady Tigers 37
LOHN – The Blanket Lady Tigers returned to the court for the first time since being quarantined, but fell short at Lohn, 42-37, Tuesday night.
Marian Marquez led Blanket with 15 points followed by Jacy Stovall with 13, Penny Pedraza and Mariela Menchaca with four points each and Amada Menchaca with one point.
The Lady Tigers are set to return to action at 6 p.m. Friday at home against Evant.
