WALL – The Brownwood Lions followed up Tuesday’s initial victory over Jim Ned in their home opener with a 56-37 road triumph over the Wall Hawks Friday night.
“It was a great team effort, especially on the defensive end,” said Lions fifth-year head coach Nadir Dalleh. “Every kid contributed and we are getting better every game. We still have some things to work out before district play but I’m proud of our guys tonight.”
Brownwood (2-3) led 15-8 after one quarter, 22-17 at halftime, and 47-23 through three periods.
Bryson Monroe paced the Lions’ attack with 15 points followed by Jakob Hataway with 11, Christian Kinzler with 10, Michael Felts with seven, Nathan Wheelington with three, and Zach Porter, Bryan Healer and Blake SBrasher with two points apiece.
Tate Williams led Wall with 10 points.
The Lions are back in action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host San Angelo Lake View.
