Olivia Jane (Fudge) Masters, 65, of Brownwood, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020. A graveside service will be hl at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road Abilene, Texas 79601 with Chaplain James Looby officiating.
Olivia Jane Fudge was born December 13, 1954, in Seymour TX. She was brought into the loving family, with her sister Ann, of Col Russell O. & Betty Ann Fudge. She traveled and lived in several countries while Col Fudge served in the United States Army. The Fudges retired to Brownwood where she attended BHS and graduated in 1972. After graduation, she lived in Ft. Worth until the passing of her mother, Betty Ann. She returned home to be with her father and worked for him at the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom, Howard Payne University. While working there she accompanied him on many of the HPU travel abroad trips to Europe. She decided to finish her college degree at Hardin Simmons University and followed her fathers love of service by joining ROTC and enlisting into the Army Reserve. It was here she met her future husband James while attending ROTC. She then transferred to McMurry University to finish her degree and complete the Commissioning program. After Commissioning, she remained with the Army Reserve completing 24 years of service retiring in 2004 after serving a tour of duty in Bosnia. She and her husband James spent 40 years together raising their two daughters, Jan and Jennifer, at their Lake Brownwood home. She worked as the IT instructor for the Early ISD retiring in 2010. Jane was a Gold Legacy Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Post 3278 and a Life Member of the Auxiliary. She has served as a Trustee in the VFW and as a Post and District President of the Auxiliary. She embraced life surrendering into the hands of the Living God on Saturday, 14 November with her immediate family at her side.
Olivia is survived by her Husband James; their daughters, Jan and her Husband Phil, Jennifer and her daughter Lyanna Jane; her sister Ann and her brother John & his wife Shirley Fudge.
Olivia was preceded in death by her parents.
