Brown County Sheriff’s Report – Oct. 13

On Thursday, Oct. 8 at approximately 10:01 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant at the LEC. This was in reference to a scam report and investigation.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, deputies were dispatched to an assisted living residence on County Road 292. This was in regards to an assault. One of the residents punched a care worker in the head and the worker wished to file charges. MHMR was called out to the scene and the resident was transported to a Mental Health Hospital for treatment. A report has been made.

On Friday, Oct. 9, Deputy Andre Smoot was dispatched to an Illegal Dumping call. Once on scene, Smoot observed items left on the side of the road. Smoot obtained photographs and completed a report.

On Friday, Oct. 9, Deputy Toby Mathis, while doing a follow up by phone, learned of an assault that occurred in Lubbock County. Information was gathered and a report was made.

On Friday, Oct. 9 at about 7:35 p.m., Brown County Deputies and Brownwood Police Officers served a parole warrant on a suspect at Temple Ave. The suspect was located inside the residence. Deputies located a clear glass smoking pipe containing a white substance and some fresh marijuana on a shelf next to where the suspect was located. The white substance tested positive for methamphetamine, and the marijuana weighed 2.1 grams. The suspect was arrested for the blue plus two additional charges of State Jail Felony Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 and Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana <2oz.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, Deputy Andre Smoot was dispatched to a loose sheep call. The sheep was later discovered pinned up on a property. A contract cowboy later took possession of the sheep and released it to the Sheriff’s Office livestock pins.

On Sunday, Oct. 11, Deputy Toby Mathis responded to CR 618 in Brownwood for suspicious activity. Mathis spoke with the complainant about a suspicious unknown male in the area. No male was located, and an information report was made.

On Sunday, Oct. 11, Deputy Toby Mathis, spoke with a complainant by phone in regards to his vehicle being broken into and items being taken. The complainant said he and his girlfriend arrived back in Stanton to discover his girlfriend’s purse was missing from the vehicle. Information was gathered and a report was made.

On Monday, Oct. 12 at approximately 2:24, p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to CR 563 in Brownwood. This was in reference to a harassment and disorderly conduct report and investigation.
