The Rescue Resale Thrift Store opens Thursday, October 1, at 602 West Commerce in Brownwood. Open Thursday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, proceeds from the thrift store will benefit the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center in Brownwood.
“We have very high quality items that we’re going to offer,” said Donna Thomas, Volunteer Manager. The thrift store will be operated by an all volunteer staff.
“We’ve depended strictly on the community for our donations and it has been just extremely wonderful what the community has donated to us,” Thomas said, adding that individuals and businesses have been very supportive in this endeavor.
She said tremendous strides have been made at the animal shelter over the past several months.
“They’ve lowered the number of animals that they have but they still have a great need in order to take care of the animals and staffing and just everyday operations providing food, etc. to the animals that are in need.”
