EASTLAND – The Bangs Lady Dragons slipped to 2-5 in District 8-3A volleyball action and 5-9 on the season with a five-set loss at Eastland Tuesday night.
“We played good but started slow in the fifth set,” said Bangs second-year head coach Cheyanne Lovelady. “We need to learn how to start out strong.”
Standouts for the Lady Dragons included Cloie Montague with four kills and eight digs; Jordyn Pitts with five aces and nine digs; Skylar Hutchins with 34 digs; Avery Bierra with two aces; Halle Lance with 12 kills, 11 digs and one ace; Hadley King with two aces, 16 assists and 10 digs; Maggie Morales with five kills, five digs, and five blocks; Jacee Miller with two aces, eight kills and 20 digs; Brooklyn Mullins with 14 kills, and seven blocks; and Kylie Salazar with two kills.
Bangs will travel to Millsap at noon Saturday to begin the second half of district competition.
Also Tuesday night, the Early Lady Horns came up short in their district match at Millsap, falling in five sets, 25-17, 18-25, 19-25, 25-13, 15-3.

The Lady Horns are now 6-9 overall and 1-6 in district. Early will visit Dublin at 4 p.m. Friday to start the second half of league play.
