WINTERS – The Bangs Dragons gave up their first points of the season, but still remained undefeated with a 42-19 road victory over the Winters Blizzards Friday night.
Bangs (3-0) finished with 418 yards of total offense, including 403 rushing. Ethan Sanchez led the charge with 319 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries, quarterback Ethan Cortez chipped in 57 yards on five carries and a score, and Damion Santillanes rushed for 27 yards on three carries and scored once.
Through the air, Cortez connected on 3 of 5 passes for 15 yards. Brayton Wedeman caught two passes for 12 yards and Santillanes added one catch for 3 yards.
Defenisvely, Bangs recovered a pair of Winters (0-3) fumbles.
Sanchez finished with 17 tackles, Santillanes added 12, Wedeman recorded 8, and Trevor Bowers and Charlie Smith tallied seven each.
Bangs will host Hamilton (2-1) next week, which is coming off a 66-0 win over Hico.
