The Lake Brownwood Community Development Council came together in 2002 with approximately 43 Brownwood Lake area merchants and residents coming together at the Texas 4-H Center with the purpose of forming an organization that would work to make the Lake more appealing for businesses, tourists and residents.
The LBCDC came together with goals that included a desire to improve Lake Brownwood as a vacation destination and a beautiful place to live while also promoting the area as a great retirement location.
The Lake Brownwood Community Development Council usually hosts their kid fishing tournament in May but due to COVID-19 it had to be postponed until August. They hosted their 5th annual Kid Fishing Tournament. This tournament is open to children up to 12 years old. This event allows families to come together in an activity that can last a lifetime! This year we had approximately 53 participants. The fee was the tournament was $10 which provided the participants with a nice fishing pole, tackle and lunch. All fishing equipment was donated by Bishop Distribution.
