Kenneth “Ken” Callaway, age 81, of Brownwood passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Care Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral Services for Ken will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stan Roberts officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Kenneth was born on August 1, 1939, to Curtis Harold Callaway and Lora Mae (Eaves) Callaway in Shallowater, Texas. He married his true love, Reva Burnett, on July 21, 1980, in Pecos. Ken worked in the oil and gas industry most of his life, retiring from Texaco after 31 years.
Ken was a family man. He enjoyed spending his time with the family. Some of his fondest memories were coaching his kids in sports, which he loved doing and being their number one fan. He enjoyed going dancing and loved to share his love for dancing by teaching others how to dance. Having never met a stranger, Ken could brighten up any room and almost any situation with his big contagious smile.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Reva Callaway of Brownwood; children, Gregg Callaway and wife Debbie of Gillette, WY, Cindy Krause and husband Greg of Granbury, Stanley Callaway and wife B.J. of Copperas Cove, Joel Crowe and wife Liza of Rockwall, and Tina Wade of Newport, KY; 11 grandchildren: Cody, Kyle, Cliff, Mason, Falen, Brittney, Todd, Gunner, Meagan, Kaleb, and Khloe; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lora Mae Callaway; father, Curtis Harold Callaway; stepmother, Opel Callaway; and his siblings, Bill Callaway, Delbert Callaway, Tommy Callaway, Naomi Hickman, Lozell Keeter, Betty Sue Roberts, and Harold Callaway.
