Brownwood News – UPDATE 8:30 PM – According to the Texas A&M Forest Service Incident Command, the Buffalo Creek Fire in Mills County is estimated to be 2,500 acres and 45% contained as of late Tuesday afternoon. Numerous departments are working to control the flames.
UPDATE at 8:30 pm Tuesday – The Texas A&M Forest Service is also responding to a request for assistance on the Gate 5 Fire in McCulloch County. The fire is estimated to be 2,000 acres and 10% contained. Crews are reporting very active fire behavior. Numerous area volunteer fire departments are on scene.
UPDATE at 8:30 pm Tuesday – The Waldrop Fire in McCulloch County is estimated to be 500 acres and 25% contained. There are active evacuations associated with this fire.
Fire crews were also fighting a grass fire in Brown County on County Road 192, about five miles south of Bangs at mid-afternoon. The number of acres burned is not known at this time. As of Tuesday night it was said to be mostly contained.
