Wallace “Wally” Gonzales, 75 (Coleman)

Wallace “Wally” Gonzales, age 75, of Coleman, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at Coleman Healthcare.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Ave., in Coleman.  Interment will be at the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

He was born Guadalupe Wallace Gonzales on October 8, 1944 in Stamford to Augustine and Henrietta Gonzales.  He grew up in Stamford where he attended school.  Wally married Erlinda “Lillie” Dela Rosa on May 12, 1975 in Coleman.  He worked as a mechanic at D&R Automotive in Coleman for many years.  Wally was a talented mechanic and could fix anything on a vehicle.  His pride and passion were his family.  Wally loved to be with his children and grandchildren.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coleman.

Wally is preceded in death by his parents; one stepson, Chris Holguin; and his siblings, Ruben, Alice, and Vera.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Gonzales of Coleman; his children, Wally Gonzales, Jr. of Abilene, Ruth Anne Jones of Abilene, Joseph Gonzales of Fort Worth, and Stephen Gonzales of Austin; one stepson, Stacy Dela Rosa of Coleman; his siblings, Paul and Emma; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Wally to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Ave., Coleman, Texas 76834.
