The Brown County Sheriff’s Department has responded to the following calls in recent days.
On Monday, June 8, at about 07:56 hours, Deputy Byron Langley spoke with a victim about a burglary of a building. The victim stated she rented a garage building on North 279 in Brownwood to a man and the lease expired about a year ago. The woman said the man has moved all his property out of the building but he still makes entry into the building.
On Monday, June 8, at about 13:17 hours, Deputy Byron Langley spoke with a woman by phone. She said someone had opened an account with Verizon phone service in her name without her consent.
On Sunday, June 7, at approximately 12:08 hours, Deputy Hammonds was dispatched to the corner of County Road 286 and County Road 294. This was in regards to an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the lower right leg.
On Monday, June 8, at approximately 15:34, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to U.S. Highway 67 West in Brownwood in reference to an animal bite report and investigation.
On June 9, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of loose livestock. The complainant advised he located five sheep on his property which did not belong to him. A report was made.
