Funeral services for Theodore Antonio “Tony” Montez, 76, of Brownwood will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2 PM at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.  Mr. Montez passed away December 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Tony was born November 9, 1942 in Bronte, Texas to Justino and Mary (Gutierrez) Montez.  He married Frances Hanks on August 11, 1984 in Brownwood.  Tony was a man of many talents.  He did concrete work and helped pour the foundation for Kohler Company and later worked for 25+ years on that very foundation before retiring from Kohler. He did automotive work and was a handyman.  Tony was also a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  His main goal was taking care of Frances and seeing to it all of her needs and wants were met.  Tony was also an avid western fan, loving all films–especially John Wayne movies and Walker, Texas Ranger.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memories include his wife of 34 years, Frances; children, Greg and Cindy Gilbert of San Angelo, Sherry and Joel Hoover of Brownwood, Toni and Burk Singleton of Brownwood and Rita, Amanda, Tony and Cory Montez; grandchildren, Geremy, Braxton and Zachary Gilbert, Dustin Sanchez and Taylor and Sydney Singleton; many great grandchildren, mother, Mary Montez, and brothers, Ray Montez of San Angelo and Raul Montez of Bronte.

He was preceded in death by his father, Justino Montez; brother Freddy Montez and sister, Rachel Montez Stallworth.
