Howard Payne quarterback Zach Hubbard has been named an Honorable Mention selection to the 2010 D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-American Team.
Last season, HPU starting quarterback Zach Hubbard threw for 3,140 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was named 2nd-Team All-ASC and broke the single game ASC record for total yards in a game. Versus Louisiana College, Hubbard was 38 of 63 for 532 yards and five touchdowns passing, while also rushing for 77 yards and a score on 13 carries. His offensive yardage total broke the old record set by former HPU signal caller Adam King (512 passing, 83 rushing) in the 2004 season.
The D3 Senior Classic is the premier post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players on the NCAA Division III football level. This game is held annually (December) at Salem Stadium, home of the NCAA National championship game, in Salem Virginia. Pre-season honorees are invited to play in the D3 Senior Classic.
