Chris Younts, 11th District Republican Congressional candidate, made a campaign stop in Brownwood on Monday at the Adams Street Community Center and addressed a small crowd of supporters.
Younts covered a variety of topics including the need for the federal government to balance the budget and cut spending. He also stated that he believes the U.S. should look back to its past before moving forward.
“I think what we need to do in this country to get back on path, we need to go back to the things that made us the greatest, most prosperous, freest nation on earth,” Younts said. “If we will go back to those values, I think our turnaround will be remarkably swift.”
Younts said that some of the values he referred to include fiscal responsibility, economic freedom, inclusion of God, and personal accountability.
Younts concluded his presentation with a short Q & A session.
Younts will face incumbent Mike Conaway along with candidate Wade Brown in the Republican Primary on May 29th.
