Dorothy Pauline Scott, age 90, of Santa Anna, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Dorothy was born on May 24, 1934 to George and Irene Vanpelt in Stacy, Texas. She graduated from Melvin High School in 1952. Dorothy married the love of her life, James E. Scott on April 2, 1973 in Coleman. She worked for the Wool Mill and Sewing Factory in Brownwood for many years. Later in life, she also worked as a medication aid at Ranger Park Nursing Home. Being a caregiver was the biggest part of her life. Dorothy was the caregiver for her husband James for over 15 years. She enjoyed molding and painting ceramics and China, and going fishing and having cookouts with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Darrell Dillard of Santa Anna, Eddie Dillard and wife Phillis of Santa Anna, and Dorothea Estes and husband James of Bangs; 10 grandchildren, Jason Trichel, Christina Trichel Ison, Janai Dillard and Andrew Dillard, Elaine Liles of Santa Anna, Lisa Thomas of Brownwood, Jackie Eldred of Santa Anna, Mary Dillard of San Antonio, Chris Christian of Sherman and Alisha Marlaina Philyall of Miami Oklahoma; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; daughters, Detra Kay and Virginia J. Dillard; son, R.B. Dillard Jr. grandson, Jason Trichel; sister, Cora Juanita Wood, and daughter-in-law, Cora Dillard.
