The Men’s All Pro Tour makes another stop at the Brownwood Country Club Wednesday, April 23 through Saturday, April 26 for the annual Birdies on the Bayou event.

The purse is an estimated $150,000, including $30,000 for first place, which belonged to Sam Murphy in 2024 with a tournament score of -21.

The event will consist of 72-holes of stroke play (weather permitting). The field will be cut after 36 holes to the top 35% of the starting field, including ties (maximum of 50 and ties).

A junior clinic will be held in conjunction with the tournament at 5 p.m. Monday April 21, followed by the Welcome Party at 6 p.m. The pro-am begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 with a long drive contest at 6:30 p.m. Then Wednesday will feature the Sip N’ Chip at 6 p.m.

The Men’s All Pro Tour stated the following about the tournament on its website:

Tournament Notes: While the course is not the most challenging stop on tour (thus the name), Brownwood CC does demand a good wedge game with its very small sloping greens. If your short-game is on, you will be in the hunt. The tournament’s hospitality during the week is some of the best all year with BBQ, fishing, skeet shooting and a Long Drive off the Clubs back deck.

PGA Pre-Q: During the first round of the Birdies on the Bayou, players have an opportunity to ‘pre-qualify’ for the PGA’s Byron Nelson. Registration for this pre-qualifier is done at the Northern Texas PGA site. Links provided in the link below.

Korn Ferry Monday: Brownwood is conveniently schedule the same week as the Korn Ferry stop in Dallas. Brownwood is only 166 miles from the Korn Ferry stop in Dallas allowing players to Monday Q and have a back up event close if needed.
