Brownwood firefighters took advantage of the good weather today to wash their firetrucks. Well, just about every day, actually, weather permitting.
The Brownwood Fire Department believes in daily maintenance on their equipment, and the trucks actually need washing every day because most days they are called out one or more times for fires, traffic accidents, and medical emergencies. These days the Fire Department is involved in a lot more than just fighting fires. The firemen also do daily maintenance, such as refilling the oxygen bottles used while fighting fires.
Today Firefighters Tyler Garza and Eric Hunter, and Drivers Cody Cross and Steve Atkins, were washing Ladder Truck #9.
To paraphrase the Beatles from their song Penny Lane: “They like to keep their fire engine clean. It’s a clean machine!”
