
The roller coaster ride for the Brownwood Lady Lions through District 6-4A softball competition continued Friday night as, trailing by a pair of runs heading into the sixth inning, the maroon and white surrendered 13 en route to a 17-3 home loss to the Graham Lady Blues.
Brownwood (12-8, 2-2), which was coming off a 5-1 road win over Stephenville where it scored all its run in its final at-bat, finished with just four hits – one each by Jeniffer Romero, Hanah Campos, Kaydence Allen and Peyton Pena – against Graham (7-12, 2-2). Romero, Campos and Chloe Walls collected RBIs.
Meanwhile, the Lady Lion pitching duo of Allen and Tynlea Wilson yielded 16 earned runs on 14 hits with seven strikeouts and seven walks. The Brownwood defense committed one error.
The Lady Lions wrap up the first half of 6-4A action at league front-runner Brock (19-0-2, 4-0), which is coming off a 5-0 win over Glen Rose (12-9, 1-3) Friday, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
