ALBANY – The Early Longhorns secured their first baseball victory of the season at the Albany tournament Thursday, knocking off Brady, 5-1.
Trailing 1-0 after one inning, the Longhorns struck for two runs each in the second and third innings and tacked on a final run in the fourth.
Early finished with five hits – two from Jack Nowell and one apiece by Lawson Barron, Brayden Moya and Eli Pallette. The Longhorns were also aided by six Brady errors and seven walks.
On the mound, Pallette tossed a two-hitter with three strikeouts and four walks. The Early defense committed three errors behind him.
The Longhorns (1-6) are back on the diamond Friday against Cisco and tournament host Albany.
