
The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of February 26:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
- SLOW. Water stained; 47 degrees; 0.01 feet above pool. Black bass to 5 pounds are slow on scope minnows off the rocks, but fair on Hag’s All Around jigs in Juice Box around steep banks and squarebill crankbaits in 2-14 feet of water. Crappie are slow to 1 pound on jigs and minnows in brush piles in 8-12 feet of water. White bass are slow to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits and Alabama rigs scattered around the lake. Catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers.
LAKE CISCO
- GOOD. Water slight stain; 49 degrees; 12.78 feet below pool. Crappie and catfish are good when the wind is down on cut bait and minnows. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
- SLOW. Water normal stain; 50 degrees; 0.54 feet below pool. The bite should improve as the weather warms. Target bass with Carolina rigs and football head jigs. Crappie can be caught with minnows or jigs.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
- FAIR. Water slightly stained; 50 degrees; 23.14 feet below pool. After a warming trend some areas of the lake are 50 degrees. Black bass are fair to 8 pounds on shad patterned jerkbaits or ⅜ inch swimbaits on a umbrella rig on the outside of points or mouths of drains in 12-20 feet of water. Crappie are being caught in the mouth of Elm Creek in deep trees. Fish are suspended 12-15 feet over 35 feet. No reports of white bass this week. LAKE PROCTOR
- FAIR. Water stained; 45 degrees; 0.21 feet above pool. Catfish are slow in shallow water with cut or live bait, there is a better bite in deep water. With the warmer weather expect fish to move shallow. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
