
The San Saba Lady Dillos earned a berth in the Class 2A Division I girls basketball state championship game with a 67-49 victory over LaPoynor Tuesday night at Waco Midway High School.
San Saba (32-6) will battle Nocona (31-6) at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Alamodome in San Antonio in the Class 2A Division I state final.
The Goldthwaite Lady Eagles were turned back in their Class 2A Division II state semifinal by Martin’s Mill, 74-28, Tuesday night at Lorena High School.
The Goldthwaite Eagles upset No. 3 Evadale, 52-44, in Bryan Tuesday night in boys regional semifinal action and will move on the regional finals to face Mumford later this week.
Meanwhile, the Sidney Eagles were downed in regional semifinal action, 56-46, by Bryson Tuesday night at Weatherford High School.
And the May Tigers will play their regional semifinal game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Perrin Whitt at Weatherford High School.
